Reproduced in this fine art archival pigment print, Wyeth’s original painting Renfield is a scene from Howard Pyle’s home Painter’s Folly in Chadds Ford, PA. Completed in 1999, Renfield was painted in tempera. Howard Pyle was the founder of the Brandywine School of Art, whose attendees included Andrew Wyeth’s father, illustrator and painter N.C. Wyeth. The room in Renfield was a room in Painter’s Folly where Pyle frequently taught his students.
